The Governor has approved the code adoption scheduled for Feb. 1, 2021. All applications for building permits submitted before 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 1, 2021 will be under the current 2015 code review. Anything submitted after will be reviewed under the new adopted 2018 codes. All local (OMC) Olympia Municipal codes will be voted on and request for approval from City Council Feb. 2, 2021 in the evening.
The City will consider extension of existing issued building permits that may expire due to inactivity caused by COVID-19. A written request to extend such permits to Dec. 31, 2021 may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org for consideration by the Olympia Building Official or designee.

Only a limited selection of permit types are currently available for online submission/payment/issuance. Over the next year we will increase the number of permit types, with a goal of having all permits online by Summer 2018.

Permit fees are due when the permit is issued. Projects requiring Plan Review are subject to a Plan Review fee of 65% of the permit fee that is due when you submit your application.
