Free Neighborhood Training October 21

Olympia Police Hosting Free Neighborhood Training

The Olympia Police Department is inviting residents to participate in free training on Saturday, October 21, from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at City Hall, 601 4th Ave E.

National speaker John Campbell will be sharing strategies to strengthen neighborhoods and tackle chronic nuisances. Mr. Campbell is a trainer and consultant who teaches police officers, residents and landlords the skills necessary to revitalize impacted neighborhoods. His interest in community policing grew out of recognizing the need for such approaches in his own neighborhood. He has experienced living near a drug house and worked with neighbors, landlords and law enforcement to clear up the problems.

The Olympia Police Department is hosting this training as part of their commitment to working with neighbors to build strong communities, encourage citizen involvement and create lasting relationships.

RSVP is required by Friday, October 13th to Amy Stull, astull@ci.olympia.wa.us or 360.753.8049. A event flyer can be found at www.olympiawa.gov/policenews.
